The Graduate School Essay
Medical, law, English, history, vocal studies, genetic counseling: Graduate study applications demand a broad yet concise personal statement with supplemental essays that emphasize salient aspects of a student’s career goals and personality. This assignment isn’t easy! I work with students during any or all stages of the Graduate School application process, from essay ideation and drafting to framing supplemental essays to highlighting strengths and successes. Together, we create a portrait of the “whole” student.
As always, my goal as an essay coach is twofold: to help students become better writers during this process, communicating in an effective tone exactly who they are and what’s important to them, and, of course to help them gain acceptance into their school of choice.
